Hi Tech Appliance Repairs Terms Of Use
Welcome to Hi Tech Appliance Repairs. These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our services and appliance repair services. By scheduling a service or allowing our technician to commence service, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined herein. It is your responsibility to carefully review these terms. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of these policies.
Hi Tech Appliance Repairs reserves the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. We encourage all customers to review these Terms periodically.
Non-Refundable Service Charge
We charge a non-refundable service charge (also referred to as a service fee) for every service call, including diagnostic appointments for appliance repair. The fee will be quoted at the time of scheduling a service and must be paid at the time of service, regardless of whether the repair service proceeds.
The service charge covers travel expenses, diagnostic labor, and the evaluation performed by a highly trained technician. Should you choose to move forward with the recommended repair, the service fee will be included in the total repair costs.
Payment Terms and Collection Costs
Payment is due upon completion of the repair unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept credit cards, checks, and cash as forms of payment.
If a payment is returned or declined, the customer will incur a processing fee of $50.00. Any overdue amounts may incur interest at an annual rate of 18% or the maximum applicable legal rate, whichever is lower. Customers agree to pay all costs, including legal fees and collection expenses, should enforcement of the payment terms be necessary.
Limited Warranty
Hi Tech Appliance Repairs stands behind the quality of its work and parts. That is why we proudly offer a 90-day warranty on all replacement parts and workmanship associated with the appliance repair services we provide.
Our warranty is designed to give you peace of mind and protect your investment after your service appointment. Here’s exactly what it covers — and what it does not:
What Our Warranty Covers
Our 90-day warranty applies to:
- Replacement parts installed by our technician during your repair
- Labor and workmanship involved in completing your repair service
If a defect in material or labor occurs within the warranty period, we will fix the problem at no additional cost to you. Depending on the situation, we will either:
- Replace the defective part
- Perform additional labor to correct the issue
- Refund the amount paid for the original repair, if a resolution is not possible
Our goal is to ensure that the appliances we repair stay in good working order and that you continue to feel confident in the quality of our service.
What Our Warranty Does Not Cover
Our warranty does not cover component failures or issues that arise from circumstances beyond the scope of the original repair. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Moving the Appliance:
If the appliance is relocated after our technician has completed the repair, the warranty is void. Movement can cause stress or new issues unrelated to the original work. - Plumbing-Related Repairs:
If a repair involves plumbing connections (such as a dishwasher or washer) and we recommend replacement of water lines, but you decline, any future leaks or plumbing failures are not covered. - Improper Use or Commercial Use:
Our warranty applies only to residential appliances used in a home environment. Appliances used for commercial purposes or in ways not intended by the manufacturer are excluded from warranty protection. - Failure to Follow Manufacturer’s Warranty Terms:
If an appliance is still under a manufacturer’s warranty and its required care or maintenance terms are not followed, our coverage will not apply. - Pre-Existing Problems or New Issues:
The warranty only covers the specific repair performed and parts replaced. Any new problems unrelated to our service will require a new diagnostic and may incur additional cost.
Important Warranty Limitations
Our obligation under this warranty is strictly limited to:
- Providing replacement parts for the specific repair
- Refunding the original amount paid if a replacement is not feasible
Other warranties, whether express or implied, including those of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are not provided or assumed.
We take pride in the professional service and results our technicians deliver. However, due to the complex nature of appliance systems, this warranty ensures clear, fair expectations for both our company and our valued customers.
If you experience a problem related to your original repair within the warranty period, please contact us immediately. The sooner you notify us, the sooner we can dispatch a technician to assess the situation and determine the next appropriate steps.
Hi Tech Appliance Repairs is dedicated to providing the highest level of service, protection, and customer satisfaction every step of the way.
Limitation of Liability
Hi Tech Appliance Repairs shall not be held liable for any damages that are incidental, special, or consequential that arise from the use of our appliance repair services. We are not responsible for any damage to flooring, cabinetry, countertops, or other home structures that may occur when moving appliances, even if the technician is required to do so.
Furthermore, we shall not be liable for any damages resulting from inherent appliance risks such as component failure, food spoilage during refrigeration repairs, or any unforeseen issues beyond our control.
Your acceptance of these terms and conditions explicitly includes a waive of claims related to these risks.
Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with any signed or electronically agreed-upon service appointment details, constitute the complete and final agreement between Hi Tech Appliance Repairs and the customer. This agreement outlines all the rights, obligations, and expectations of both parties regarding the appliance repair services we provide.
By scheduling a service appointment, accepting a service call, or allowing a technician to commence service, the customer acknowledges and agrees that:
- No verbal statements, prior discussions, text messages, phone conversations, or informal communications will alter or replace the terms outlined in this agreement.
- Any promises, statements, or representations made outside of this written agreement are not binding unless specifically documented in writing and incorporated into the service contract or invoice.
Hi Tech Appliance Repairs will only be bound by the terms explicitly listed herein, as well as any official, written agreements to perform a specific repair service, and will not be bound by any other terms agreed to between Hi Tech Appliance Repairs and the customer.
This provision ensures clarity, protects both parties from misunderstandings, and helps us continue delivering professional and reliable service without confusion.
If any customer has questions or concerns about these terms before work begins, we encourage you to contact us to review them in full. We want every customer to feel confident about the scope of their repair, the associated warranty, and any liability limitations before we provide the service.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms of use shall be resolved in a court of jurisdiction located in Virginia.
Damage Waivers
We at Hi Tech Appliance Repairs take great care when we service your appliances. However, certain repair activities involve inherent risks that cannot always be eliminated, even when the work is performed carefully and professionally.
By proceeding with a service call, customers acknowledge and accept these specific risks as outlined below.
These Damage Waivers form an integral part of our terms and conditions and are necessary to keep our appliance repair service affordable, transparent, and fair for all parties involved.
Waiver of Damages When Moving Appliance
In some cases, our technician may need to move an appliance to access internal components or complete a repair. Moving heavy or built-in appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, or ovens can pose a risk of damage to the appliance itself or surrounding areas, including but not limited to:
- Flooring (hardwood, tile, carpet)
- Cabinetry and countertops
- Wall surfaces or trim
By allowing our technician to commence service and move the appliance, the customer acknowledges these inherent risks and agrees to hold Hi Tech Appliance Repairs and its technicians harmless from any breakage or damage that may occur as a result of moving the appliance.
We exercise every reasonable precaution, but we cannot guarantee that such movement will be completely free of incident.
Waiver of Damages When Working with Water
We service many appliances connected to your plumbing system, such as dishwashers, washing machines, and refrigerators with water dispensers. When servicing these appliances, even a small adjustment can cause unexpected plumbing issues such as:
- Leaks from aged or weakened supply lines
- Flooding due to worn or faulty fittings
- Water pressure changes affecting plumbing seals
Except in cases of gross negligence, Hi Tech Appliance Repairs is not liable for any damages resulting from water leaks or floods associated with these repairs.
By allowing our technician to work on water-connected appliances, the customer explicitly waives all claims related to plumbing failures, flooding, or water damage that may occur during or after the service appointment.
Waiver of Damages from Failed Cooling Equipment
Servicing refrigeration equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, and coolers, carries special risks due to the complexity of these cooling systems. Even with careful work, component failure may still occur unexpectedly, potentially leading to:
- Loss of cooling function
- Food spoilage and waste
- Business interruptions for commercial units
- Customer inconvenience and additional costs
By authorizing Hi Tech Appliance Repairs to perform work on refrigeration equipment, the customer acknowledges these risks and agrees that Hi Tech Appliance Repairs is not responsible for any damages, including but not limited to food spoilage, business loss, discomfort, or inconvenience.
We make every effort to ensure reliable repairs, but due to the sensitive nature of refrigeration, some risks are unavoidable.
Waiver of Damages from Lifting Glass Cooktop
In some repairs, accessing components beneath a glass or ceramic cooktop may be necessary. These surfaces are typically attached with strong adhesives and are inherently delicate.
Despite exercising extreme care, there is a real inherent risk of:
- Cracking
- Chipping
- Full breakage
By allowing our technician to lift or remove a glass or ceramic cooktop, the customer acknowledges and accepts this risk, waiving all claims for any damage that may occur during the service.
Hi Tech Appliance Repairs and its technicians will not be held liable for any breakage or damage that results from necessary access procedures.
With Hi Tech Appliance Repairs, we strive to provide exceptional service while being honest about the challenges that come with appliance repairs.
By acknowledging and accepting these waivers, our customers enable us to continue offering affordable, high-quality, and professional appliance repair services with transparency and mutual understanding.
