GE, GE Profile and Cafe Appliance Repair Across Northern Virginia

GE Appliances spans a wider range than most people realize — basic GE refrigerators and dryers that run for twenty years without complaint, the Profile series with its smarter controls and enhanced features, and the Cafe line designed for the pro-style kitchen. All three tiers show up in homes across Stafford, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania and Fairfax County, and each one has its own diagnostic profile. A GE Profile refrigerator with a sealed-system fault is a meaningfully different job from the same symptom on a base-model GE, and treating them the same wastes time.

Refrigerator defrost systems are the most common GE call we handle — specifically the evaporator heater, defrost thermostat and control board that govern the auto-defrost cycle. When that cycle fails, frost builds on the evaporator coil until airflow is blocked and the cabinet warms. We also handle GE dishwasher pump and control-board failures, oven heating elements and temperature sensors, and washer and dryer faults across the lineup. All repairs use genuine GE OEM parts and are covered by our 6-month parts-and-labor warranty.

Our board-level electronic diagnostics are particularly useful on Profile and Cafe units, where control boards and connectivity modules add complexity that a simple meter test cannot fully assess.

GE's newer Profile series refrigerators use a dual-evaporator configuration on models like the PFE28K and PWE23K; a failure of the fresh-food evaporator fan (WR60X26866) produces warm-above, cold-below symptoms that are often misdiagnosed as a sealed-system fault. GE Cafe induction ranges on the C2S986 and CHS985 platforms incorporate a power-bridge module separate from the main control board — error codes F96 or F97 point specifically to that module rather than the board itself. Correctly identifying which assembly is at fault avoids an unnecessary $400 board replacement. GE's TrueTemp oven systems also use a dual-sensor arrangement where the hidden upper sensor governs broil cycles independently of the bake sensor; a broil-only failure almost never requires a new control board, only a sensor swap.

  • Refrigerators: defrost systems, sealed-system diagnosis and ice-maker repair
  • Dishwashers: wash pumps, spray assemblies and electronic control boards
  • Ovens and ranges: bake and broil elements, temperature sensors and controls
  • Washers and dryers: motor, pump, element and control-board repair

Frequently asked questions

Can you repair GE Profile and Cafe appliances, not just standard GE?

Yes. We service all three GE tiers — base GE, Profile and Cafe — using the same factory-trained diagnostic approach and genuine GE OEM parts. Profile and Cafe units have more complex electronics, which is where our board-level diagnostics make a real difference.

Do you fix GE refrigerator error codes and defrost system failures?

Defrost-system failures are the most frequent GE refrigerator call we receive. We test the evaporator heater, defrost thermostat and main control board individually to find the specific failed component, then replace it with a genuine GE OEM part backed by our 6-month warranty.
